After an interruption from a particularly nasty virus Major League Baseball gets underway today in an abbreviated season. Schedule adjustments and rule changes abound to squeeze in a semblance of a season as training will be held at home stadiums and Opening Day will happen on July 23. There is good and bad news for my beloved Cincinnati Reds.
Usually at this time in the season the Reds are fading and despair sets in. Maybe a shortened season will help. However, major investments over the winter went to starting pitching. A good rotation is built for the long haul season so we miss a major advantage. Still, I will be rooting for my team and hoping we can win this asterisked season. Go Reds!
