Today’s National Day celebrates the rise of social media in our lives. The good news is that social media provides a platform and outlet for everyone without limit. The bad news is that social media provides a platform for everyone without filter.
I’m old enough to remember the days when there were three television networks and limited press platforms that were respected. With the proliferation of social media it is difficult to know who can be trusted. Even this blog allows me to mouth off and give my opinion without proof. You need to know who to trust. My intentions may be good but you can’t know my motivations.
All I can recommend is that you read all social media with care and suspicion. Pick the sources you can believe, not necessarily just those that you agree with. It is a wild world out there and you have limited eyeball time. I’ll always keep it brief and honest. Thanks for spending a few minutes with me. Have a good day.

Yay for social media! I love it but it’s a big distraction
