Sadly my Cincinnati Reds did not measure up for the post season again. Though there were some memorable performances there was never a consistent answer to big league competition. You may have noticed that in the first half of the season I was following their progress closely in my blog posts. When that didn’t work I switched up and tried to leave them alone in the second half. Nope, they remained out of contention. No matter what I do it appears I cannot help them remotely.

I still think we have a good core of players and hope with some tinkering they can be a force for next season. If there is a next season. News is that the player and the owners have little common ground and the current contract expires at the end of this season. Unfortunately, as I have noted in previous posts, the big market teams will not share enough revenue with the small market teams so there is built in disadvantage with my Reds. And the players are fighting against a team salary ceiling that would help the imbalance.

Still I will be there to root them on if the get thi9ngs straightened out. Maybe soon I may get to see them in person. Right now I am grateful for t-mobile and MLB.TV. I will decide later if I have a rooting interest for the post season, but it won’t be the LA Dodgers. Go Reds!
