As the baseball approaches that halfway mark there is no more excuses and precious little time to catch. The previous week was a disaster as we went one for six in the last two series. Terrible. Coming up we face Pittsburgh and Milwaukee (who just swept the last series) in away games and return home for Baltimore. So far this season we are 2-15 in contests against National League West opponents so we must stiffen up. The Orioles have a similar record to us so perhaps we can gain some ground there. If we expect a second half surge we must start in a better position than we have now. There is still time to make this season work and we look forward to returning missing players due to injuries. We can do it but we need better effort to get there. Go Reds!
