Groundhog Day was a quaint oddball holiday back in the ’70’s and 80’s. What was a meaningless little lark and meteorologist oddity all changed in the 1993 Harold Ramis movie “Groundhog Day.”

If you haven’t seen it, you must and if you have seen it, you have probably seen it many times. It is a charming and engaging movie that tickles your brain and warms your heart. More specifically it is the rare movie that has transformed a minor holiday and the entire term of Groundhog Day to be a common term to reference a repetitive, unpleasant, and monotonous situation. And all the time making it absolutely hilarious. It is a cultural milestone and a damn good film comedy.
So happy Groundhog Day and wish your favorite rodent meteorologists a fine time today.
