Throwback Thursday – Recent and long past rides in the Great Smoky Mountains

On this date in 1940 President Franklin Roosevelt dedicated the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, one of my favorite places to be. I recently took another motorcycle trip through my happy place, for the first time with a riding partner. Acie Lee Williams and I had a great time. I was thrilled to introduce him to fantastic riding roads.

The Great Smoky Mountains are named for the layers of fog often found in the beautiful landscape.

Because this date falls on a Throwback Thursday I am featuring photos of some of my previous rides. This is the first bike I took, a Suzuki Burgman 400.

After several trips on “Sylvia” I acquired “Vicki,” my 2009 Victory Vision Arlen Ness Special Edition.

I have since taken several more trips on “Josephine,” my 2014 Can-Am Spyder RT – here is a shot from this most recent ride.

And my special guest rider on his 2019 Harley-Davidson Ultra-Classic.

There will certainly be future rides on my absolutely favorite roads in my favorite mountains. But for now, we need to ride on. Have a great Throwback Thursday!
