My cousin’s trip to The Big Apple

I was thrilled that my cousin Kim and her husband Dennis traveled from Cincinnati to visit New York City last week. They were here for reasons beyond a tourist trip but they aced that part of it.

They especially excelled in their show going expertise. They visited the box offices (strategically about 1-2 hours before curtain) at the Lyric and Nederlander Theatres and scored excellent seats for hard to get shows “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” (two shows, an all day affair) and “Pretty Woman.”

They did the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Battery Park, The High Line, a NYC Street Fair and Gallagher’s Steakhouse (and even more I may have forgotten).

I had the chance to spend a great afternoon and evening with them, surveying the architecture and history of Greenwich Village capped by a performance at the Players Theatre of Monday Night Magic. Dennis was chosen to briefly be part of the show and had great insight of the magic performed in front of him. The show was pretty good, highlighted by Peter Samelson. I was especially impressed with their mastery of the subway system, not all visitors handle that so well.

So come back anytime you can Dennis & Kim. Hope you had as great a time visiting as I had seeing you.
