Well children, did you get what you wanted for Christmas? I got two pretty cool gifts that I really liked. Of course they were food related! Two different attachments for my KitchenAid mixer. These workhorse machines have a port on the front that permits handy tools to use the power of the mixer.
The first was the Ravioli Maker which I have not quite mastered. I already own the pasta roller that I used to prepare the dough. I read the printed directions and they were wrong and incomplete in a couple of ways. As a man I should have known not to read directions! But YouTube came to the rescue as I have learned man things from amateur videos. I still need a session or two to perfect it but I think I get I am ready to give it another whirl.
I also got the KitchenAid Spiralizer/Slicer/Corer/Peeler. This one worked fine right out of the box and is pretty cool. The multiple attachments hook easily to the mixer and can be used in multiple configurations. It is very versatile and I have used it to make zucchini noodles, curly fries and an easy apple tart demonstrated here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JdTr7xYHiw
Next year I’m going to ask for more kitchen counter space. Let’s see Santa bring that down the chimney!
