National Salami Day

Today is National Salami Day and you should go to Katz’s Delicatessen for a taste.  It has been in business since 1888 and sells wonderful delicatessen classics like pickles, corned beef, and yes, salami.  Sure you could order over the internet (they have changed their URL since their founding in the 19th century so take out your fountain pen and write this down – https://www.katzsdelicatessen.com).  But part of the joy is to visit this quaint and marvelous and historic place on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.  When you arrive you are provided with a punch ticket that your order amount is hand processed on and you must pay that amount on the way out.  And yes, the table from the scene in When Harry Met Sally (I’ll have what she’s having) is handily pointed out.  Come visit on your trip to Manhattan!
