As 2017 winds down, time to take stock of how my scripts have done this year. While there is still a chance more will be accepted this year, less chance of any performances, readings or recognitions.
Seven different scripts received a performance, reading or recognition this year and were featured in nine different productions and thirty-five performances. One production won an audience choice award and another was a semi-finalist in a competition.
I did several self-produced works this year as is common among early career playwrights. Most notably we have tapped into a group of alumni of University of North Carolina – Greensboro. They are a group of very talented and hard working young people in New York City with great futures ahead of them. We are lucky to have provided several of them with their first NYC performing credits.
While I have long had success with my short works I am changing my focus in 2018 to full length works. I’ll keep you informed of any progress here and hope you can attend some performances of my scripts in person next year.
