On this date in 1951 CBS broadcasted the very first episode of “I Love Lucy” with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez. I can’t claim to have been around to watch the premiere but I saw endless replays of the series and subsequent spin offs when I was growing up. As dated as some of the references are, it holds up better than most from that era and is still hilarious. But in the age of streaming who seeks out reruns when one can see anything you want.
