Happy World Theatre Day after a full year with no theatre. I can’t tell you how much I have missed it. I’ve tried several screening options but it never filled the void. It was fine but so are movies and television. What I love is to sit shoulder to shoulder with total strangers to absorb live actors touching my heart and stirring my brain.
The pandemic has robbed us of that. But it will soon be coming back. Several small scale and socially distanced options return next month here in New York. The Delacorte will put up an outdoors option this July. Broadway is toying with a September or October opening. I can’t wait for it all to come back.
Happy World Theatre Day.
