It is here again, (tomorrow, Thursday, May 28, 2020) that date when the setting sun aligns exactly with the east-west streets of the main grid in Manhattan. It has to do with the tilting of the earth on its axis that create our seasons. I’ve written about this before and you are welcome to look up more detailed explanations on previous posts or everywhere on the web. It is a cool sight that only comes twice each year.
With the continuing stay at home orders in New York City you will certainly experience less traffic if you can sneak out to take a photo. Clouds are forecast but that may just make the setting sun more dramatic. Make a note and see if you can create a memorable photo. Try 14th Street as recent traffic limits should create an amazing view. Good luck and good viewing.
