I tried Mississippi Roast

During these lock down times I am trying recipes I may not have tried in other circumstances. Recently I tried an internet favorite slow cooker recipe called Mississippi Roast. It is simple, delicious and has several variations you can try.

Basically you take an inexpensive cut of beef (try chuck roast or sirloin roast) and put in your slow cooker. Sprinkle on top of a package of dried ranch dressing powder and a package of onion soup mix. Toss in a stick of butter (in slices) and 8 to 12 pepperoncinis. Set it on low and let it cook at least 8 hours.

When you come back to it it will be soft and fragrant and juicy. Shred it with two forks and serve it up. You can spoon it over potatoes or egg noodles or in buns or just as a protein. It is actually pretty good, inexpensive, tasty and makes a bunch you can refrigerate or freeze for later. Not bad and easy as anything.
