Foodie Confession and possible solution

If you read this blog regularly you know I enjoy eating and making great food. I like making my own pasta, baking my own sourdough bread and even inventing my own triple process delicious barbecue baby back rib recipe. But I have a confession to make. There are certain low brow foods I absolutely crave. One is McDonalds’ McRib Sandwich – a thoroughly manufactured molded mystery meat invention I should abhor. But I love it and McDonalds is trotting it out for a limited time release and I was so looking forward to it. Luckily for me, New York City shops are not part of the participating retailers offering it, so I won’t have one this time. Close one.

But what if there were a copycat recipe worthy of a foodie as a replacement. There happens to be one. Check out a recipe from a guy named Chef John who has his own website and a prominent place on allrecipes.com. Read all about it and see his video here:

Essentially he cooks up real ribs, pulls out the bones, chills it to set it and then quickly grills it up and puts it on a bun. Personally I think you could get more servings out of the recipe and you should give it the pickles/onions treatment instead of cole slaw, but who am I to quibble. Enjoy a Rib Sandwich, no Mc necessary!
