I’ve been a big fan of Alton Brown and his “Good Eats” series from the beginning. While I had been a dedicated baker for most of my life I was just warming to cooking beyond the grill and pots of chili when the original show came on. It was perfect. Focus on a single iconic dish or ingredient, add scientific background with hilarious props and actors, finish with wholesome humor and end up with a well tested, perfect recipe. I still use many of his methods and eagerly watched his Reloaded series where he “corrected” some old episodes.

He has all new series episodes returning this weekend (Sunday at 10 and 10:30 PM – yes, two new episodes each week). If you still have cable, it is on the Food Network and it exists on several other platforms. My TiVo is already set (you can also catch on YouTube) and I highly recommend you give it a look.
