Footnotes #9 – it really is National Wiggle Your Toes Day

When I broke my ankle earlier this summer one of the first things the responding ambulance crew asked was whether I could wiggle my toes. The same question came early on in the emergency room and the first observation by an orthopedic specialist. Since that day I’ve been sure to wiggle my toes at least once a day just to assure myself I could.

So I was delighted to find out that today was really National Wiggle Your Toes Day. Go out and give your neglected piggies a treat like walking barefoot in the cool grass or a warm beach. Get a pedicure or foot massage and marvel at those little extensions of your feet. Today is their day!

As for my healing, coming along at a nice clip. Walking more freely and more steadily each day. And I will be grateful today for being able to wiggle my little lower phalanges.
