I guess it was inevitable but since 2014 June 19 has been National Selfie Day. Don’t look down your nose at this day, look up, it makes a better selfie. Think of it as a natural evolution to art’s time honored self portraits, and much faster and more spreadable thanks to social media. Indeed, you should post one today with the the hashtag #NationalSelfieDay.

I have only taken a few selfies myself but they exist. More exciting to me is that they are a major plot point in a new play I am writing. My plays tend to be based in past times, but this one is contemporary and has other internet goodies beyond just selfies. Now, if I could only clear out the clog in my quill pen, I will do just fine.
