I have done NYC restaurant reviews and Broadway show reviews, but now a review of someplace that is terrific but you are unlikely to ever visit. Broadway Souvlaki is a tiny trailer on the corner of Broadway and Bennett Avenue up here in Northern Manhattan. It is just a short walk from our home and a great part of the neighborhood.
The couple who operate it (Chrissy and Tommy) are from Athens and they make terrific items, especially their lamb gyros. They assure me that these are the real Greek street food and I can attest they are different and better than any midtown food truck.
Unfortunately the couple wants to move back to Athens and is putting up their business to sell.
Any enterprising gyro makers want to swoop in and run it? If so, I will see you often!
