As I have said previously on this blog, there seems to be a National Day for nearly everything and today’s version is Oysters Rockefeller. This dish was famously created by Antionne’s restaurant in New Orleans in the late 1800’s. It was named as so rich it was fit for a Rockefeller but that was before ant-trust actions. The chef never shared the recipe and it is supposedly only served in the original version at the restaurant.
Since I can’t share the original, of course I turn to my favorite chef, Alton Brown, so here is his version:

As for me, I prefer my oysters raw or deep fried. But then I am not as rich as a Rockefeller. Go figure.
