Review – Sakina’s Restaurant

Audible continues its run of solo works and I have seen all of them so far.  Sakina’s Restaurant, written and performed by Aasif Mandvi is one of the best to date.  It was first presented 20 years ago and it is refreshing to see a pre-9/11 and pre-Donald Trump work on immigrants to the US.  Mr. Mandvi does an amazing job performing all five characters smoothly and convincingly.  It feels true and fulsome and compelling.  It only runs through this weekend, but see it if you can.  Then watch what comes next because they seem to have a good eye (ear?).
