Today is National Dumpling Day and while many cultures have their own versions of filled dough fried or baked, my natural inclination is to turn to Chinese Dim Sum.  There are many options in New York’s Chinatown and likely in your city as well.  Recently I had been drawn to a relatively new place in Chelsea that I enjoyed very much when I worked in that neighborhood.  I decided to pay a return visit in preparation for this post.  Bad Idea.  While still a new restaurant it has gone markedly downhill.  The formerly warm service was now sullen.  The won-ton wrappers were dry and thick.  I was charged for a soda that was never delivered.  Sorry Excellent Dumplings on 23rd Street, you must now change your name to Adequate Dumplings.
