NYC Restaurant Week Review – Chazz Palminteri Italian Restaurant

Posting this on a bittersweet day for Chazz.  His show “A Bronx Tale” is closing today after a very healthy run and where he recently stepped in to play the role that he turned from staged monologue to a movie to a Broadway Musical.  Way to go Chazz.  We saw the show early in the run and enjoyed it very much.  While not on The Main Stem any longer it is worth seeking out a tour or production near you.

I had never been to his restaurant and found it a delightful place with excellent service and food.  It also boasts one of the best NYC Restaurant Week special menus with many excellent choices.  Located at 30 W 46 Street, it is well placed to be a pre- or post- show hangout.

I started with the Calamari Fritti golden fried rings of squid with spicy marinara sauce and moved on to a delicious Risotto Al Porcini risotto served with mixed mushrooms and fresh porcini.  I make my own risotto at home and this was good stuff.  I finished off with a delicious Cannoli which had a crisp shell and whipped cream and berries accompaniment.

I highly recommend this for either Restaurant Week or anytime.  Now that Chazz is not on stage he may even be around more often!  Stop by!
