Results of The Reluctant Prophet Reading

Sorry to be so delayed. I’ve been exhausted since returning from both Richmond and New York. Not exactly sure why but there you have it.

The reading went very well, was well received and yet gave good leads to continue to edit and refine. That is rare in a public reading. I credit it to several reasons. First I had an extraordinary cast: Leslie Lynn Meeker, John L. Payne, Francis Parkman, Meliora Dockery, Jen Nolan and the very talented Sophie Larin. Here we are in a selfie before the reading:

That’s me to the left with the camera, back row from left to right, John L.Payne as Matthew, Meliora Dockeryas Susan, Francis Parkman as Eric, front row from left to right, Leslie Lynn Meeker as Narrator, Sophie Larin as Britney and Sheriff’s Deputy, and Jen Nolan as Andrea. An exceptionally talented cast.

The reading was attended by about 40 people. I sat at the back row as I try to do, watching both the action and the audience. I was happy to see the crowd focused tightly on the entire script. The feedback from the audience and the cast were very helpful and I have already started re-editing and re-imagining the play. Hopefully more to come.
