National Noodle Ring Day

Some of you may know of the actual source of this National Day. Apparently there is a tradition of making a casserole that includes egg noodles, sometimes vegetables, sometimes canned tuna, in a round shape like a bundt pan or similar. Sounds, um, interesting, but come on, you also thought of that canned American treat – SpaghettiOs. Introduced as a neat treat you can eat with a spoon instead of twirling on a fork, I don’t ever remember eating it as a child. My mom made delicious spaghetti with meat sauce that I, on more than one occasion, wolfed down gratefully. I never made a mess. There was so little time between plate and my mouth there was no time to make a mess. So happy National Noodle Ring Day, however you may celebrate it!
