My Cincinnati Reds have had a very quiet off season. They are more focused on the challenges of a small market team budget and the very real threat of bankruptcy of their broadcasting partner than on any blockbuster acquisition of fresh talent for the coming season. But we recently heard word that they have signed a one year contract with one year option Eugenio Suárez. He is a talented infielder, spark plug at the plate and general cheerleader for his teammates who lightens the clubhouse and rallies the dugout. He was one of my great favorites during his 2015-2021 stint with the Reds and I felt then that it was a serious mistake to let him get away.
