My 2025 Reds so far

The 2025 baseball season has had its up and downs as it barrels toward the halfway point. Some injuries and disappointing performances have kept us several games back from the division lead. But enough good pitching and stand out performances keeps us in the hunt, still trailing the Cubs, Brewers and Cardinals. But new manager Tito Francona has maintained a steady hand on the tiller and there is growing hope for the remaining portion of the season.

There is one fascinating stat this season that brings me hope. You play baseball in spurts, in series with other teams, usually in three game bunches, though sometime two or four. With 162 games on the schedule players tend to focus on the series instead of the individual games. Sometime you sweep the series and sometimes you are swept. Except the Reds this season. So far (and hoping not to spook them) My Cincinnati Reds have not yet been swept in any series so far this year. The are the only team in baseball this year to achieve that feat. That brings me hope. Go Reds!
