Happy Memorial Day here in the US and spend some time celebrating those who have served our country in our armed forces. I have not served in the armed forces but a few members of my extended family have. Today I will focus on my late father who served one term before he married my mother. As a special treat I have a couple of official photos, one serious and one smiling.

As a special treat from his holdings I have a couple of his pay card from the Army, which I assume he was directed to always save and sure enough he did. All the nearly four decades from his service to his too early death. It also has something to do with our family…
