A fun entry in the occasional series about oddities of this state. A popular meme of this place is the Florida Man. So many stories here seem to start “A Florida Man … ” and then details crazy and irresponsible behavior of some of the gentlemen from this weird state. Some promoters have capitalized on the meme with their Florida Man Competitions.

Apparently the second annual event was held last week in St. Augustine and I’m so sorry I missed it. I won’t go into all the events but there is apparently an event where the contestants can do something stupid (duh) and get “chased” by police and “arrested.” Sounds all too real to me.
