As a life long Cincinnati Reds fan the last three decades can be summed up with this T-Shirt:

I read somewhere that the Reds have not won a playoff series for thirty years. It seems longer. Yes, I always am optimistic at the start of every season but have special reasons to be so in 2025. We have a new manager – Terry Francona – who brought championships to trophy starved teams Cleveland and Boston. He is stressing bringing baseball basics to the talented young players who are ready to rise to the next level.

And as a nod to the recent passing of my childhood hero Pete Rose (you can read my complicated later relationship with the greatest player I ever saw play the game here in my blog).
Pete’s number 14 will be a special shoulder sleeve patch this season. Having Mr. Rose’s number 14 again on a Reds uniform can only bring us luck. I can’t wait. Go Reds!
