Throwback Thursday – Ancient Acting

For no particular reason I am resurrecting a memory from very long ago, way back in my high school days. It was there I contracted the Theater Bug which infests me to this very day. From acting to theater management to playwriting, it consumes me still. Back in Cooper City High School in Florida, circa 1975, I was fortunate to be cast as a lead role in the play “The Miracle Worker.” It was the biggest challenge up to that time and it was a wonderful experience. The local newspaper did a story on it and included a picture with me and another cast member that I dutifully clipped out and saved to this day.

It’s a lousy picture, I look like a dork, my hair is okay for a 1975 high school schlub, but not for the character I was playing, but I sure as heck saved the image. It brings back great memories (was I ever really that thin?) and a fine candidate for a Throwback Thursday.
