Upcoming World Theatre Day Highlights

March 27 is World Theatre Day and as a playwright I have two events in 2024 I am looking forward to. I’ve featured them on this blog and my playwright website, so a quick reminder.

I have written a new short play under the guidance of The Pulp Stage in Portland, Oregon. Written in the last few weeks, it will get a public reading on the internet on Monday, April 1 at 9:00 PM Eastern (it originates on the west coast, so compare against your time zone). It is called The Pulp Factor Showcase and focuses on oral storytelling traditions and in the supernatural genre. There will be three short plays by as many different writers, including yours truly. Here are two links where you can watch the free reading:

And then coming up this fall, my full length script Bloodletting in These Hills will get a live reading in Burnsville, North Carolina. I am one of three playwrights selected by the Parkway Playhouse for their Appalachian Playwriting Festival in September 20-22. The exact time of the reading is yet to be announced but you can find current details and playwright biographies at this link:

Happy World Theatre Day.
