2023 is the first time since 1995 that my Cincinnati Reds have led their division since 1995. It has been a long, long wait for this Faithful Redlegs Fan. The team is clearly having a lot of fun with great performances from spirited rookies to talented veterans. The electric Elly de la Cruz is breaking records and showing off talent seldom seen in the big leagues after just a month at the show. And yes, Joey Votto still bangs!

While rookie Spencer Steer has handily played four different fielding positions he is also the team leader in hits and home runs so far. Add in rookies Matt McClain, Kevin Newman and many others this team has a core of young talent. Pitching injuries have hurt us but hopefully we are in a buying mode before the trade deadline. Closer Alexis Diaz is an All-Star and our lock it up pitcher. Not only does the second half of the season look promising, but these guys are having fun playing and will hopefully be a strong core for seasons to come.
