Summer desserts are my favorite and of all those Strawberry Shortcake is my favorite. I have several fancy, involved recipes in my files, but honestly I do something simple. You likely do as well.

Cut up some strawberries, sprinkle over some sugar to release juices and put back in the fridge. Get your handy Bisquick out and follow their shortbread recipe. Bake and let cool. Either whip some fresh cream or get a can of it from the store. Add the strawberries and juices to a cake, cover in whipped cream and dig in.

Simple, refreshing and worth it. Welcome to summer.
